I saw this on J's Everyday Fashion at http://jseverydayfashion.com/home/everyday-fashion/preppy-stripes and instantly fell in love with the outfit below. I recreated the outfit for plus size. I was so thrilled with the result. I wore it to Sephora. It was my first time. Sephora was AWESOME! I got me a Bare Minerals starter kit. It was on sale for 20% off. Booyah! I was in and out in under 20 minutes.. They know their stuff.
I was stopped twice today to tell me they loved my outfit. I was asked specifically where I got the shorts. Talk about good for self-esteem. I've been really sick for the past month while recovering from infectious bronchitis so anything that I can have to give me a boost is just fine with me.
In the picture, you can tell that I am bloated especially in the face from the prednisone. My face looks like a hippity hop. Yeah, that doesn't do anything to make me feel well. Add to that, the sleepless nights that have created bags under my eyes that no amount of make up can cover up.
I really love this outfit and it will be out again!

Recreating Outfits During a Time of Illness - #5 - Blue Kate
Disclaimer: Once again I recreated these outfits when I was sick to feel better so no amount of product can cover up the fact that I don't look my best. I have 3 bags in this picture and I'm only carrying one of them.
What drew me instantly to this outfit was the shape of the dress. Next, was the pockets. Lastly, the...wait for it...wait for it...the simplicity! My ONLY issue with the outfit is the belt. I would want something wider. That's a personal preference!

Sunglasses were on sale 2 for $10 at www.onestopplus.com when I bought them. Normally, they are $12.
These espadrilless are so comfortable. I love them. They were originally $44.99 but with a coupon code, I got them for $13.49.
My total for the outfit is $38.48. I think this is my best recreation!
Recreating Outfits During a Time of Illness - #4 - Orange Reece
Disclaimer: Please remember these outfit recreations were done when I was sick because I was trying to feel better but no amount of make up could help me come back from the THAT so quickly!
I saw this and was instantly drawn to the color. Once again, simple and more simple!

These shoes are fabulous and ar comfortable. I bought a 1/2 size up because of having to zip up the sandal. I have cankles.
(www.onestopplus.com is awesome!)
Belt is from Eloquii but they have closed. I got it on sale for around $15. I'm not digging how its fitting. I need to watch J''s Everday Fashion belt tutorial really bad!
My total cost is $57.48. That's way below the$90 recreation on the website http://onehundredinspirations.blogspot.com/. Wednesday, July 3, 2013
Recreating Outfits During a Time of Illness - #3 - Ashley Somebody and Jessica Kane
I came across this inspiration picture back in March and kept it on my mind. Peplum was everywhere. I was still unsure about it. I'm not really sure who this chick is but she is gorgeous! Once again, the outfit is basic. Basic is kind of my thing. I like clean lines with a twist.
Then I was reading my daily fashion blogs in June and came across this My Peplum Buying Tips by Jessica Kane. I instantly fell in love with this peplum top. It was from Simply Be and I had bought a few things from there. Their stuff is higher end and you pay for it; however, their stuff will last you for many years. It is an investment. I had to have the top. I got it on sale for $40.60. That includes shipping. Jessica was right about the quality. It's so nice. I was impressed. Below is her inspiration picture for me. BTW, the top is now on sale for $34.80 so if you can score a coupo code, it's an even greater savings!
My cost was $132.59 but I'm okay with it being more because of the high quality of the peplum top. It will last forever.
Recreation Cost from website: $108 |
This is my recreation.
(These shoes are fabulous and comfortable. I've had them for a few years. I paid the same price!)
Got the necklace off of Etsy for around $20 and the watch is a
old watch that used to belong to my hubby until I stole it. (FREE!)
Below you can see a matching bracelet to the necklace. I got it off
of ebay for about $2.
This clutch came from Double Digits Consignment for $5.
My cost was $132.59 but I'm okay with it being more because of the high quality of the peplum top. It will last forever.

Recreating Outfits During a Time of Illness - #1 - Charlize Yellow
I like to recreate outfits from other bloggers or from the web that have inspired me. I'm still new at this. On the day that we took these pictures, I have infectious bronchititis and wanted to do something to feel better so this was my project with my husband's photography skills!
I call this Charlize Yellow. The recreation cost on the website was $115.
Michael Kors Bag - Gift (I will be buried in it!)
