What I Found Out While Recreating Outfits from Blogs?

While on spring break, I have found that all the bloggers are on fire with their outfits!  It must be the weather.  I have been finding all these outfits I want to recreate but the items are not in my wardrobe. I follow many types of blogs.  Here's the issue:  When you are recreating an outfit from a blog and the people are not plus size, it can be eye opening.  Why?  Because when you start recreating the outfit, you can find stuff, but it is more expensive.  That's sad!

I have committed to doing most of my clothes shopping online.  It's just something I want to do.  So far, with using coupon codes, I have been pretty successful.  Sometimes you just have to bit the bullet if you really want something.  If you don't get it when you get it, it might not be there when you decided to go back because it goes fast.  I have learned that with Forever 21.  They sell out of stuff really fast.

The biggest surprise has been Lane Bryant.  I was able to score a pair of colored jeans for $25 and they fit.  It's all about waiting and using coupon codes when there is a sale.  Sometimes you have to try a few coupon codes because many times there are restrictions.  It's worth it though.  I recreated an outfit on a blog post from Easter but it cost me around $100 but that's okay because I'm going to look fabulous.  Thank goodness I already had the shoes and jewelry.

One Stop Plus is my boo.  I have scored so much stuff there it is not funny!  Their boots from Comfortview are just plain wonderful and with coupon codes, I have scored wide width boots for under $25.  I have real leather boots and wear them all the time but I don't want to spend a fortune on some of the "trendy" items.  However, the four pair of boots I have bought have been comfortable and of high quality.  I have been successful with other types of shoes: sandals, booties, and pumps.  You just have to watch the prices.  I have been pleased with their tops.  I buy basic shirts from them and have been less than $15 for a nice shirt.  Their sizing is awesome.

Simply Be is more of an investment and I have taken the plunge on a few things and the quality is high.  There prices are high but you get what you pay for.  Their items will last you forever. The few times I have ordered something, it ends up on backorder so I have to wait.   I have a few things on watch.  (Side note:  I found this website because of Life $ Style of Jessica Kane's blog.  I have been watching the website but when she hosted a fashion event over in England, I finally took the plunge!)

I discovered Steve Madden on 6pm.   I love my crayon blue pumps.  I don't wear them often because they are high but I adore them.  They only come out for special occasions.

Ebay is my friend!  I have bought so much stuff...cheap...on Ebay.  Brand name stuff too.  This is where I go first when recreating outfits.  If I can't find something that speaks to me, then I go to my next place.

I shop at Dots pretty regularly because there is one on my way home form work.  I've scored wrap dresses for $7.  I've had them for over five years.  I ordered a skirt online yesterday because shipping was only a .01.  I couldn't leave the house because we were having some work done at the house.  Using my time wisely!

The place that has knocked me for a loop is Wal-Mart.  I have found a few dresses and some basics for a good price.  The quality has been good.  I've been pleased and will go back.

One of my biggest disappointments is Target.  I buy shoes there but I am disappointed in their online Plus Size shopping experience because they don't give a sizing chart.  I'm sorry but if you can't take the time to post a sizing chart, I'm not going to take the time to order something.  Yes, when online shopping, it is trial and error to find the right size. Once you do, the rest is cake.  Yeah, Target needs to revamp their plus size stuff.  Just sayin'...

The jury is still out on Torrid...
