Warning: Silliness ahead...
My mother ordered some books online and got a free gift of a
pearl necklace/earring set. I love
pearls! I own many pairs of them. Of course, they are not real. They are just representative of the old
saying, “Always a bridesmaid, never a bride.”
I married in my late 20’s and had been in many weddings. I held onto many of the pearl baubles. The dresses are gone but the pearls remain.
As I was getting ready to go over to my parent’s house, I
decided I needed to actually put on some real clothes rather than pajamas or sweatpants. I needed to leave the ponytail at home
too. I know…I know…but what you have to
understand is that my parents are ill so they are always in the pajamas. I just like to be comfortable. However, today I wanted my parents to see me
in actual clothes and make up. See my
Dad is dying from cancer. I love him
dearly. I wanted him to see me dressed
up and looking like his beautiful little girl.
Yes, I’m 46 years old but I will ALWAYS be his little girl for all of
eternity.
I wanted something that I could easy wear and look put
together. I pulled some skinny jeans out
an animal print shirt. Put them on and I
thought my mom would be pleased if I wore the pearl ensemble. I put it on and it looked good with my makeup
and my new do (Thank you www.makeupgeek.com
and your tutorials). It was the top
not. I teased the heck out of that high
ponytail. Wound that baby up and pinned
it to perfection for me.
All of this is to say that I had forgotten how good pearls
can make anything look classy. I am
going to wear them again real soon and I might just wear them with my sweats or
pajamas!
Please note: Just for
the record, my parents only live about two miles from house if that make any
difference about the sweats and pajamas. =)
